"Someone's knocking at your door!"

You hear someone knocking at your door.  You open the door, and you see Jesus standing there.  After greeting one another, Jesus says, “Are you willing to do a few things for me?”  What would you say?  “Yes.”  Of course!  Right?  What if He said I want you to:

#1.  Meditate on Me and My Word all day long so you know Me better, find victory over your personal sins and are equipped for every good work I command,

#2,  Make the most of your time by following My will in these evil days,

#3.  Test every thought, word and deed prior to thinking, saying or doing them,

#4.  Confess every sin the testing uncovers and abhor it to the point of change,

#5.  Help others identify and overcome sin in their lives, even as they help you,

#6.  Communicate with Me all day long through prayer,

#7.  Rejoice, praise and have Me on your lips all day long,

#8.  Never stop giving thanks no matter what the circumstance might be,

#9.  Always be prepared to defend Me and the hope I have given you,

#10. Make disciples and then teach them to keep My commandments.

(These are based on the Scriptures found in the “Ten Fundamental Aspects of God’s Daily Plan” document. https://www.discipleshipfortoday.net/post/god-s-plan-my-plan-ten-fundamantal-aspects-of-god-s-daily-spiritual-plan)

Here are the most probable responses you might have:

1.      Not interested.

2.      I’ll think about it, but I’m very busy right now.

3.      I’m okay spiritually.  I go to church, serve on a board, sing in the choir...

4.      I love You more than anyone or anything and will evaluate the presence of each of these commands in my life, as well as do my best to incorporate and grow each into my daily walk.

Obedience has nothing to do with our salvation, but God declares it to be the EVIDENCE that we truly love Him (John 14:15, I John 2:3-5).  It is also part of the evidence that we want to live just as Jesus lived (I John 2:6).

I challenge you to put a check next to each of the “Ten Fundamental Aspects of God’s Daily Plan” (see attached) you are daily striving to incorporate and grow into your walk.  You might do the same with “God’s Plan for Spouses and Parents.” (see attached)

Perhaps you are thinking, “I didn’t know this is what I should be doing!”  That is understandable.  Over time the scope of pastoring, shepherding the sheep, has narrowed to exclude immediate, personal oversight of each of the sheep to this end. (see “Parable of the Shepherd”  https://www.discipleshipfortoday.net/post/the-parable-of-the-shepherd)

Until I die, I will be writing “God’s Plan/My Plan,” a study based on understanding and implementing the particular ten fundamental aspects of God’s plan into a believer’s day.  If this page has challenged you to intensify your pursuit of God’s specific plan for your life, this study might be a tool to help you discover it, as well as a tool in your helping others (family, friends, etc.) discover theirs.  Let me know if I can help,
