One day we were having a family celebration/meal at my sister’s house. The mother-in-law of one of my nephews and I just happened to be the last to finish the meal. Someone made that observation to which my father responded, “Well, it’s no surprise; just look at how big they are!” Everyone pretty much ignored my 90 year old father’s comment. However, as we were about to leave, he commented to the mother-in-law who was about to return home to Alabama, “The next time I see you I hope you will have lost 20 pounds.” A hush fell over the room, and I hurried my father out the back door.
